Here’s a selection of my favorite sites or, alternatively, what I’m doing instead of finishing a comic.
Webcomics of Interest:
Any Day Now A look at post-college life–as the author says, a life that has “ended.”
Ask Rachel I’ve heard folks describe this comic as being like a small, smart independent film. An ensemble cast of truly fascinating characters combined with a sensitive and philosophical approach to life’s complexities. AND: it’s funny.
Climer Comics James Climer’s office/IT webcomic. Really funny stuff.
The Daily Odyssey Hilariously self-deprecating webcomic from Brett Muller.
Do You Work Here My new favorite comic about work. I’m really quite jealous of the digital art, I must admit. Smart, good-looking and funny. It’s a triple threat.
Fart Party Julia Wertz does one hell of a journal comic. Somewhat indescribable. Hilarious and bleak.
Finn and Charlie are Hitched One of my absolute favorite strips. Witty, endearing, and the art is completely unique.
Imy The digital art will make you want to immediately go out and buy a tablet, it’s so good looking.
Inkdick Pranas Naujokaitis’ daily journal comic. Completely fascinating peek into life.
Looks Like Rain Thomas Rothlisberger’s journal comic.
My Life Comics Funny blog of comics. I dig the sweet, dry sense of humor.
My Life in a Cube The Classic.
Oh, Arlene Great site; some autobiographical strips, some beautiful sketchbook drawings.
Out There Stop right now and start reading this strip if you haven’t already. Probably the best writing in comics today. Updates 5 times a week, disturbingly.
Rescue Archeology A novel take on the journal-comic genre, Talcott Starr captures snippets of his life in poetry-like flashes of words and pictures. A wonderful grasp on the nostalgia of the past.
SubCulture Gorgeous slice-of-life strip. Geeky with a heart of gold.
Too Much Coffee Man An old favorite. I never get tired of this one.
A Waste of Time Rick Morley’s beautiful line art coupled with a refreshing bleakness. I like it.
